The Wishbone Socks pattern is one of those wonderful patterns that is quite easy to do, but will make you look like a superstar knitter to the casual observer. A simple manipulation of stitches down the outside of each sock to make a textured pattern is all it takes to make a simple vanilla sock pattern become something extra special.
I used 1 skein of Ancient Arts Socknado (100gm, 350m) in colourway Cherry Blossom Festival, to fit a womens size 8.5 shoe, and I had 18gms to spare, so if you have a skein of sock yarn that is 350-400m, you can certainly make your socks longer in the foot or the leg, as required.
Read the Mock Gull Stitch instructions carefully; they’re lengthy, but the manipulation of the stitches is clearly spelled out. Even if it doesn’t make sense at first, just do what it says. It’ll work, I promise.
