These accessories have been created to accompany the Wonderwool Sweater, and are inspired by traditional Welsh tapestry blanket patterns.

As with the Wonderwool Sweater, 50% of the profits from the sale of these patterns will be donated to Wonderwool’s Charities.

You can also get the coordinating Hat and Mitts patterns. Purchase all three accessories patterns together as a bundle for £6!

Gauge
Approximately 23-24 sts and 24-25 rows to 4”/10cm in colourwork sections on 3.75mm needles.

Stitches, abbreviations and techniques used
K - Knit
P - Purl
St(s) - stitch(es)
K2tog - knit the next two stitches together. (Decreases one stitch)
RM - Round Marker - place a marker for the beginning of the round.

Yarn
Morris by West Yorkshire spinners - 50g balls, 112m/122y per ball
Main Colour (MC) - Green - Sage 1281
Contrast Colour (CC) - Burgundy - Pomegranate 1294

To make the cowl you will require:
158m / 173y / 2 balls of MC and 76m / 83y / 1 ball of CC

OR your choice of DK weight yarn to meet gauge. If you’re using alternative yarn, please use meterage/yardage and not the numbers of balls to make sure you have enough as meterage is not consistent between yarns. Meterage is approximate and you may need slightly more or less depending on your knitting style and any adaptations.

Needles
1 pair of 3.25mm 16”/40cm circular needles
1 pair of 3.75mm 16”/40cm circular needles

Notions
Stitch markers.
Sewing up needle.

Pattern Notes:
Should you wish for a looser or tighter cowl, the pattern works with an increase or decrease of 1 pattern repeat (6 sts) per 2.5cm/1 inch.

Finishing off
Although blocking is not required, I would soak your finished items in warm water and wool wash and then leave flat to dry. This will relax your stitches and give a neater finish.

All measurements are approximate.
