Do you dream of crisp fall evenings in front of the fire?

Rumor has it that the original Woolrich designer of the classic black and red check design had a heard of Buffalo. The name Buffalo Plaid stuck and the rest is history.

Wood Socks is a color work sock knit in the traditional Buffalo Plaid design with black and two shades of red.

The short transitions between colors and rows makes this a perfect beginner color work project, as your float length stays short. Carry your yarn up with each row and you won’t have all those ends to weave in when you’re done knitting.

  • These socks are knit from the cuff down using Magic Loop but can be easily modified for your favorite sock knitting method
  • The color work pattern is charted but very simple to follow
  • The pattern includes a no-wrap short row heel and instructions for a modified kitchener stitch
