The Woodland Sunrise Cropped Hoodie is a lightweight but very warm garment that’s eye-catching and easy to wear.

Inspired by our winter walks to school across a local wooded park where on the shortest days we see the sun appear between the branches of the trees and glow across the sandy paths, I designed a garment made of simple shapes in a lace stitch recalling how light filters through winter trees featuring a strong horizon line and half visible, glowing sun to the front and rear.

Enjoy the fast growing, easy to work stitch of this garment as a relaxing make as you enjoy a favorite show, audiobook or chat at your craft group and then work up the motif pieces when you feel like focusing on fun, interesting stitches. You are sure to enjoy keeping warm by wearing a piece that will be a conversation starter wherever you go.

This pattern includes sizes XS to 5XL with guidance provided for adaptations to get a custom fit in addition to instructions for a fit in line with standard clothing sizes and ideas for creating a personalised style.
