Each headband uses a technique for creating a spiral of beads alternated with colorful yarn. Unlike crochet ropes this spiral is created AFTER you finish crocheting it. The pattern uses a camel colored thread and matte finish brown beads, but it can worked using any combination of beads and yarn, especially school colors.

Woodland Twist does require use of beads (Delica size 8) and size 20 thread. Other materials include: 1/4 inch wide headband, size 9 steel crochet hook, tapestry needle and a beading needle.

This pattern was worked using a size 9 Boye steel crochet hook. If you use another brand steel crochet hook and the work ends up smaller than the selected headband you can simply add a row to make the headband fit.

Because this uses a newer technique for spirals there is a tutorial available for this headband listed in the pattern.
