The Woodpecker hat is a simple and quick project for beginners. It is worked in rounds from bottom to top in Rib stitch pattern (k2, p2) using 4mm (US6, UK8) 40cm (16in) circular needles.

Sizes:
1 (2) 3 (4) to be worn fitted. Shown in size 2.
To fit head circumference 48-52 (50-55) 53-57 (55-60) cm / 19-20.5 (19.5-21.5) 21-22.5 (21.5-23.5) in.

Yarns (two yarns held together):

  1. Sirdar, Country classic worsted (50% wool, 50% acrylic; 100g (3.5oz) = 200m (218yds), colour: No. 0677 Golden.
  2. Drops, Kid-Silk (75% mohair, 25% silk; 25g (0.9oz) = 210m (230yds), colour: No. 30.
