An honorable and sophisticated people, Wookiees are known for their loyalty, intelligence, and remarkable strength (they have been known to pull people’s arms from their sockets when provoked). Hailing from the planet of Kashyyyk, Wookiees were loyal to the Republic and fought to defend their planet from the Separatists in Revenge of the Sith. After many Jedi are slaughtered when Darth Sidious issues Order 66, Wookiee warrior Chewbacca and Chieftain Tarffull help Yoda escape in a hidden pod—an act that allows the Jedi master to survive to eventually train a new apprentice: a young Luke Skywalker.

Knit from the top down in the round starting with a 2x2 rib, these Fair Isle socks feature a parade of Wookiees down the leg. The stranded colorwork sections are knit with a larger needle than the heel, toe, and cuff, allowing for more stretch. An afterthought heel is added after the main portion of the sock is complete.
