This pattern could be made using any yarn weight. I’ve tested it using lace, fingering, sock, and dk weights and the only difference is the final size of the final product. It is the makers choice. I personally prefer the fingering/sock weight as it creates a sweet 2.5 inch tall mouse and is fairly easy to work with.

You’ll need 100 yards of a main colour and 30 yards of a second colour for the nose and inner ear.

This is a great scrap yarn project. I’ve also used embroidery floss for the nose and inner ear, which has worked nicely.
