These socks were inspired by a pattern for a pair of child’s openwork socks published in 1920s editions of Paton’s long running ‘Woolcraft’ series.

The stitch pattern consists of several rounds of eyelets separated by bands of plain knitting. I have adapted this pattern and used it to knit a pair of adult woman’s socks.

The length of the leg and foot can easily be adjusted and one 100g ball of sock yarn will make a pair of socks. These socks look best in a solid or nearly solid colour.

All my ravelry patterns are free to download but, if you enjoy them,
please consider making a donation to the British Liver Trust where
the money will go to fund research and support the families of
children with a liver disease. You can do this easily by going to my
fundraising page here

Happy Knitting!
