The textured motif on this pattern was inspired by the woolly lousewort flower (Pedicularis lanata). The woolly lousewort is an arctic flower that stays warm by growing many “woolly” hairs that provide insulation and trap heat from the sun. This bulky hat knits up super lofty and is sure to keep your ears nice and toasty! The cabling around the brim is super easy, no cable needle necessary.

I have provided instructions for 3 finished sizes: 16”/40.5cm (18.5”/47cm) (20.5”/52cm). Knit the size that will give 3”/7.5cm or more of negative ease. Total height of the hat is 8.5”/21.5cm.
