This throw-on cardigan is a great project for first-time garment makers because the crochet stitches are simple and shaping is minimal. Herringbone half double crochet is worked sideways in the body pieces, creating flattering vertical lines. And everyone loves a sweater with pockets!

YARN Universal Yarn Adore (55% superwash merino, 45% anti-pilling acrylic; 273 yd / 3.5 oz): #126 raisin, 8 (9, 9, 10, 11, 11, 12, 13) balls.

HOOK Size G/6 (4 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

NOTIONS Yarn needle; stitch marker (m), 4.

NOTES Cardigan is intended to be oversized. Back and fronts are worked sideways in pieces and seamed. Sleeve cuffs are worked sideways. Sleeve body is worked upward in row-ends from the side of the cuff. The collar is worked separately and sewn to the front opening.
