Enjoy a simple, rhythmic pattern that’s easy and fun to knit, resulting in a gorgeous, woven fabric look.
Choose to knit them toe-up or cuff-down: the instructions for both options are included to suit your preference.
This project is a great stash-buster; all you need is a bit of variegated yarn along with a solid-color yarn to complement it, making it a rewarding way to use up your leftover yarns.

Skill Level: advanced beginner

Skills Required: Judy’s Magic Cast On, Long Tail Cast On, making increases and decreases, picking up sts, grafting sts

Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) to fit
foot circumference of 8 (8½, 9, 9½, 10)“ / 20.5 (21.5, 23, 24, 25.5) cm
foot length of 8½ (9, 9½, 10, 10½)” / 21.5 (23, 24, 25.5, 26.5) cm

The samples on the cover photo are Size 2, modeled on a person with 8½“ / 21.5 cm foot circumference and 9¼” / 23.5 cm foot length.

Yarn: Lola Bean Yarns Navy Bean, fingering weight, 100% superwash merino, 400 yards / 365 meters per 100g

As Yarn A, we used Righteous Fury and Dignified; as Yarn B, we used The Good Trouble colorway.

Yarn A: 169 (187, 203, 224, 246) yards / 154 (171, 186, 205, 225) meters

Yarn B: 71 (79, 84, 94, 103) yards / 65 (72, 77, 86, 94) meters

Note: These are estimates for a pair of socks. If you want to knit mismatched socks, you’ll only need half the amount for each sock.

Gauge: 32 sts x 42 rounds in stockinette stitch = 4” / 10 cm after wet blocking, unstretched

Needles:

• 32” / 80 cm circular needles in size needed to obtain gauge (recommended size is US 2 /2.75 mm)

• spare needle in the same size as the gauge needle

Notions: Tapestry needle, stitch markers, scrap yarn
