Inspired by classic quilting patterns, the carpenter or woven star is a timeless, heritage pattern with surprisingly simple stitches. This square blanket is knit in garter stitch in square pieces. Great for on the go; each square is worked corner to corner with increases and decreases, no stranded color work.

There are two colorways. The Alternating Colors is striking with only 3 colors. The Rainbow shift colorway was inspired as a celebration of Rainbow Babies and employs 9 colors. Although there are more colors, the technique is just as simple. Babies will love the high contrast of either colorway.

Gauge is not crucial to this pattern.
