The Woven Story Socks are the first in a series of patterns centering on the theme of how our past shapes and informs our present. Each pattern will incorporate a “woven” aspect in the form of a special stitch or design element.

These socks use a special stitch I’ve called the Reverse Linen Stitch, a simple four-row repeat that creates the look of a woven fabric. It brings to mind the seed corn sacks I would sit on while watching my grandpa work on his tractors or the texture of the pillows my grandmother had in her fancy sitting room. They are both very different memories connected by a texture.
