This baby blanket is knit from the bottom up following a basic mitered stockinette square with a 5 stitch garter stitch border around. A one row button hole accommodates the buckle of an infant to child size car seat while two large slits accommodate the 5-point harness straps without interference. Underneath babe’s tender tushy, the stockinette is reversed so that baby sits on the smooth side for comfort.

Written for a bulky weight wool, this blanket will never fall out to get dirty and can be folded around or baby or removed in a moment to keep baby perfectly comfortable at all times.

My own children were not able to sleep lying flat for several months after birth and I found myself in need of a blanket they could not kick off. This is my knit version of a solution to that dilemma.
