Wreath Socks
This pattern is part of the SingingSockTogether2026 e-book and is not available as a standalone download at this time. Individual patterns will be released separately in 2027.
The Wreath Socks are worked seamlessly from the cuff down, combining simple construction with decorative colorwork and embroidery details. Designed with a slightly shorter length, they are perfect for warmer months while still offering comfort and style.
The socks begin with a folded cuff featuring a picot edge, created in stockinette stitch and joined for a clean, double-layered finish that adds both structure and a delicate decorative touch.
The leg starts with a short section of stockinette stitch before transitioning into a colorwork wreath motif, worked in two contrasting colors. Each sock features its own chart, creating a mirrored effect between the left and right sock. This section forms the base for later embellishment, adding visual interest while remaining approachable to knit.
The heel is worked in a contrasting color with a traditional heel flap and gusset construction, ensuring a secure, well-shaped fit. The slipped-stitch heel flap adds durability, while the heel turn creates a comfortable cup for the foot.
After the heel, the foot is worked entirely in stockinette stitch using the main color for comfort and wearability. The socks are finished with a contrasting-color toe, shaped with classic decreases, and closed using grafting for a smooth, seamless finish.
As a final step, the colorwork motif is enhanced with French knots, added after knitting to create a textured, floral wreath effect. This allows for creative freedom. Knitters can vary placement, color, and size to make each pair unique.
