This pattern is all about cables, lots of front posts and back post! The texture it creates is lovely! I used 2 strands of dk weight yarn, in theory, you can use any yarn of any weight the pattern is easily adjusted, with full instructions.

I made this with 2 strands so the amounts I chained means its nice and wide. If you wish for it to be wider just follow the instructions, super easy. But you will have more repeats of the pattern so instead of 3 sets of cables you may have 6.

I am not concerned with gauge as it isn’t important. I would say tension is try to not be to tight on your tension and loosen it a bit, if your on the tight side.

I used under 4 skeins in total with chunky yarn but then again they weren’t full skeins. I cant give an accurate amount of yarn as yarns differ to availability and meters/yards. The chunkier the yarn you use the wider your scarf will be!

All you need is a hook size needed for the yarn you use, a darning needle for the ends and scissors.
