XLECS (Extra Lacy Extended Crescent Shawl) is a lacy, elongated crescent shawl knit from the top down. It only includes a few simple patterns, so it is a very quick knit with lovely results. It is finished with a lace edging and requires a very stretchy bind-off (suggestions and links included).

The directions are written in a recipe format, calculating the percentage of yarn used through out the pattern. This makes the shawl fully adjustable in length for those using a gradient with extra yardage. Directions for adding depth to your shawl are provided at the end of the pattern.

Gauge is not critical, but will affect the overall finished size of your shawl. Any weight yarn, with the corresponding needle size, can be used for those wanting a larger shawl.
