Thank you for thinking about purchasing my pattern. It warms my heart and keeps me working on new designs.
All my knitting patterns are easily adjustable. There are no long threads of yarns to tie in the color pattern. I tie every thread longer than three stitches, so that the socks are nice to wear without getting your toes around loose yarn. The ideas and colors for my patterns come from the Finnish nature around me, and the Finnish knitting traditions. Sometimes the ideas come while travelling abroad.
My knitting patterns have been made for everyday usable accessories – easy to wear garments. I mainly use machine washable yarn because in my family we wear knitted socks all the time and we wash them in the washing machine. You can easily change the yarn to your liking just by matching the gauge. Socks are easy to wear and comfortable to use as there are long enough heel flap and they last better when the knit is tight. There is a snug fit in my designs, but they are easily modified to be wider. There are instructions for that as well in my patterns.
I knit mainly with wooden needles, which can affect the knitting gauge, and therefore I recommend, as with every pattern, to check your gauge by making a swatch with you needle choice or checking you gauge while knitting. Adjust the gauge with changing the needle size according to your knitting tension or change to metallic needles. But I urge you to take into consideration that knitted socks tend to widen while in use. So, keep then tight and fit.
These patterns are quite easy and made for those who have the basic knowledge or some experience in knitting. The idea behind my patterns is to enjoy knitting and have something beautiful to wear or give as a gift afterwards.

This pattern is called Year-Round because it can be easily adapted to suit the gentle springtime or summer as well as the festive Christmas season or Autumn simply by changing the color and adjusting the length of the leg. This is a very classic pattern designed for women, and over the years I have made many pairs for myself and as gifts. Later, it has come to my attention, that these gift socks have been worn by men also – Why not! This timeless pattern is suitable for many.
Basic information:
Women’s socks, size (36/37-38-39/40 EU) (4-5-6 UK) (5,5-7,5-8 US). The size can easily be adjusted to larger or smaller feet. Adjustment points are clearly marked in the instructions. The socks are knitted from leg to toe using double-pointed sock needles. The socks have a cross-reinforced heel and a rounded toe.
The width of the cuff and instep can be easily adjusted. The leg is divisible by three and the instep pattern is divisible by two.

You will need:

• Aran medium, worsted or heavy DK weight yarn: Approximately 200-230 m / 100 g (219 yd). Gauge 24 sts/ 10 cm (4 inches). (10x10cm = 24 sts x 31 rows with my tight knitting style) The circumference of the sock at the instep is about 20 cm (8 inches).
• The base color used in the sock in the picture is Novita 7 Brothers light grey (Jäkälä 047, 100 g skein ca. 200m or 219 yd) and the pattern color is Novita / Brothers light pink (Karamelli 510, approx. 30 g). I recommend choosing machine-washable wool yarn.
• Needles 3 EU/ 10 UK/ 3 US or according to your own knitting gauge. These instructions are written for double pointed sock needles, but they are easily suitable for the Magic Loop technique, i.e. circular needles.
• Tapestry needle for weaving the yarn ends and scissors

Ja kiitos siitä, että harkitset hankkivasi kirjoittamani sukkaohjeen. Se lämmittää sydäntä ja saa intoa jatkaa neulesuunnittelun parissa.
Kaikki neuleohjeeni ovat helposti muunneltavissa (levennys, kavennus, koko, pituus, värit). Ohjeissa ei ole pitkiä langanjuoksuja. Itse sidon kaikki yli 3 silmukan langanjuoksut, jotta sukkia on mukava pitää jalassa eivätkä langat tartu varpaisiin. Ideat ja värit tulevat Suomen luonnosta ja perinteistä. Välillä ideoita nousee matkoilta.
Muutenkin sukkamallini on tehty pidettäviksi, kestäviksi ja jalassa mukaviksi. Kudon usein konepestävillä langoilla, koska meillä villasukkia käytetään kesät talvet, ja niitä myös pestään. Sukat pysyvät jalassa hyvin, kun kantalappu on korkeahko ja sukka on tehty tiiviillä käsialalla sekä päätelty hyvin. Minä ja perheeni pidämme villasukkia usein paljaissa jaloissa, joten malli on jalanmyötäinen jalkaterästä. Mallejani on kuitenkin helppo myös leventää tai kaventaa itselle istuviksi. Ohjeissa on näihin vinkit.
Kudon puupuikoilla, mikä vaikuttaa käsialaan ja suosittelenkin tarkistamaan tiheyden mallitilkun tekemällä tai tarkistamalla tiheyttä hetken matkaa kudottuasi. Jos käsialasi on tiukka, tai käytät metallisia puikkoja, voit tarvittaessa kutoa myös isommilla puikoilla (3,5) ainakin varren kuvio-osuuden. Resorin suosittelen kuitenkin tekemään ohjeen mukaan.

Tarvitset:

• kevyt Aran tai paksuhko DK vahvuinen lanka: Juoksevuus noin 200–250 m / 100 g. Tiheys 24 s/10 cm. (10x10cm = 24 s x 31 s minun tiiviillä käsialallani) sukan ympärysmitta jalkaterästä on 20 cm.
• Kuvan sukassa käytetty pohjavärinä Novitan 7veljestä vaaleanharmaa (Jäkälä 047, 100 g kerä) ja vaaleanpunainen (Karamelli 510, n.30 g). Suosittelen valitsemaan konepestävän langan.
• Puikot 3–3,5 mm EU tai oman käsialan mukaan. Ohje on tehty sukkapuikoille, mutta soveltuu myös Magic loop - tekniikalle eli pyöröpuikoille.

Marjo Arvostaisin palautettasi thelittlefinnishknittingblog@gmail.com Vuoden Ympäri- sukat Tämä sukkamalli sai nimekseen Vuoden Ympäri, koska tämä malli taipuu niin hempeän keväiseen kuin jouluisen tunnelmalliseen vain väriä vaihtamalla ja varren pituutta muuttamalla. Malli on suunniteltu naisille ja olen tehnyt näitä vuosien varrella useita itselleni ja lahjaksi. Olen myös kuullut, että lahjasukat ovat olleetkin miesten käytössä. Ajaton malli sopii moneen. Perustiedot: Naisten sukat koko 37-38-39 EU. Kokoa on helppo muokata terästä isommaksi tai pienemmäksi sekä vartta pidemmäksi. Muokkauskohdat on selkeästi merkitty ohjeeseen. Sukka neulotaan varresta varpaisiin sukkapuikoilla. Sukissa on ristiin vahvistettu kantapää ja terässä sädekavennus. Varren ja terän leveys on helposti muunneltavissa. Varsi on jaollinen kolmella ja terän kuvio on jaollinen kahdella.
