About this pattern

Materials

• Hook size: 2.5 mm (US size C)
• Yarn: Size 1/super fine/fingering. Cotton yarn is recommended for best results — you’ll need approximately 1200 meters (1310 yards). I used 2x Durable Colour Cake in Dutch Truffle (6011). One cake is just not quite enough, so I also recommend using Scheepjes Whirl with a matching Whirlette.
• Ring: 80 cm (31.5 in) or material suitable for blocking
• Optional wooden beads: 8 × 10 mm and 8 × 12 mm
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Skill level: Advanced / Expert
I recommend this pattern only if you already have extensive crochet experience.
This is a challenging and intricate pattern that uses many special stitches and techniques applied in different ways — including working in multiple layers for depth, Tunisian-inspired stitches, front and back post stitches, and more. The final 13 rounds are time-consuming due to the complex stitch combinations and techniques. The layered leaf motifs also require patience. The pattern includes stitch explanations for all special stitches used. Tip: Work through this pattern step by step, focusing only on the round you’re currently making — don’t get overwhelmed by the total number of rounds or stitches.

Finished size: Please note that the final size of your mandala may vary depending on your personal crochet tension, hook size, and yarn choice. I recommend finishing your mandala first, then choosing a ring based on your finished diameter. Your ring should be about 20% larger than your mandala. For example, if your finished mandala measures 80 cm (31.5 in) across, choose a 100 cm (39.5 in) ring.
