I modeled the Yellowstone Bison pattern after the thousands of bison I’ve seen while growing up in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem in Paradise Valley, Montana, USA.

Each section is made separately before assembly. I used worsted weight yarn in two shades of brown as well as small amounts of black and grey for the horns and hooves. I used plastic safety eyes and a plastic safety nose. Techniques include single crochet and surface crochet. Bison works up to be about 7 inches long, 4.5 inches tall, and 3 inches wide.

This pattern is easy, straightforward, and requires minimal technical skill. I hope you enjoy it!
