This project has been a labor of love and I am excited to share it with you! This is my favorite garment and definitely my proudest achievement. I hope you love it too. Many thanks to my tech editor, Meaghan Schmaltz, my graphic designer, Laura Hughey-Hopkins, and to my test knitters, Marieke Doherty and Nina Todaro. This pattern release never would of happened without all of you. I also need to mention Nancy Marchant who creates lovely stitch patterns to design with. I owe my love of brioche to her…

I am a big fan of ponchos. You can wear them many ways, wear warm layers underneath, and they stay around your shoulders much easier than shawls.

The Yin & Yang Poncho has an added feature of having reversible sides, thanks to the brioche stitch patterns. It is knitted in a rectangular shape and then seamed into a poncho.

The stitch pattern is repeated every 80 rows (40 brioche rows) so you can make it any size you want. The poncho in the photos was knitted with 5.5 repeats, which when held up vertically made the rectangle length 48 in./122 cm., the distance between the top of my chest to my toes.

Since this poncho is knit using superwash wool, I strongly suggest you measure your work by hanging it vertically while you measure due to the elasticity of the fabric.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Rectangle Size – 24”/~61 cm width and 48”/~122 cm long. The length grows when held vertically, so I suggest you measure your work while it is hanging vertically.
