This pattern, whilst it needs patience, has been designed so that it is easy to see the pattern working out as you knit the rounds. Every other row is a knit row and there is no change of round end. Once the first couple of rounds have been worked, which I always find fiddly, the pattern is quite easy. Plenty of help online for a circular cast-on.I would recommend using a contrasting marker so that you can easily see the round end and also a lifeline every so often just in case! The diameter can be adjusted to be smaller if required. The border is attached as it is knitted so there is little sewing up
