The Design:
This sweet strawberry tee is knit in a fingering weight yarn so it’s comfortable in warm weather. The strawberries can be pink, red, or any other colour under the sun, and there are endless options for the leaf motifs and background colour. You pick!

It is intended to fit with about 2-5 inches (5-13 cm) of ease. Options in the pattern include short or elbow length sleeves, and a straight or A-line body.

Yarn and Gauge:
The gauge is 25 sts x 37 rounds in plain st st and 25 sts x 33 rounds in colourwork, per 4 inches (10 cm).

I knit my sample in De Rerum Natura Alice (MC= ‘minuit’, CC1= ‘thym’, and CC2= ‘borlotti’). Listed above are a few other yarn suggestions. The amount of each colour yarn needed is given below.

How it’s Knit:
It is knit from the top down, seamlessly, in the round. A few short rows are made at the top of the yoke to shape the neckline. The yoke is knit with stranded colourwork and distributed increases. A few raglan increases are made below the round yoke, before separating the body and sleeve sts. Body and sleeves are knit in the round and finished with twisted ribbing.

Yarn Requirements (MC / CC1 & CC2 each):
Note 1: MC is the main colour (background), CC1 is the leaf colour, and CC2 is the strawberry colour.
Note 2: These amounts are for short sleeves. For elbow length sleeves, add 10% to MC only.
Note 3: The length of the body is 12 inches or 30 cm from the underarm. If you wish to change the length, you may need a different amount of MC yarn.
