The perfect gift-knit for someone you love - of any age! These fingerless mitts work up quickly in worsted weight wool. The slip stitch heart design centers perfectly on the back of the hand when worn and is worked using only one color at a time - a fun technique! (You can make your love a matching hat too with the Young at Heart Hat pattern.)

And now the pattern comes with bonus charts to knit a shamrock motif on your mitts! The shamrock charts can be substituted for the heart charts with no further changes needed in the pattern.

These mitts are worked from the cuff up and in the round. The pattern is designed for intermediate knitters who are comfortable using double pointed needles. While working the gusset there are three different things to keep track of at the same time, and I have included a shortcut row-by-row “cheat sheet” for that section to help you keep track. The heart (and shamrock) motif is both charted and written out. The pattern is four pages long and has been test knit and professionally tech edited to be clear and free of errors.

Sizes: XS (S/M, M/L) to fit child (adult woman, adult man). Mitt sizing is not fussy and they can be worn with either positive or negative ease.
