June 2021--The free update has been sent to anyone that purchased the original pattern. I have fully updated this pattern to my current format and style. I updated the instructions to tighten up the mesh a bit. I also crocheted a new sample (top left gray scarf project) using Illimani Yarn Sabri, a soft fluffy cotton/alpaca fingering weight yarn.

“Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall, all you have to do is call…” by James Taylor was going through my mind while I designed this scarf. I wanted to design a scarf that could be crocheted in a soft, light cotton or linen yarn for Spring and Summer, or a warm wool yarn for Fall and Winter. I also wanted a scarf that is light and airy and not just heavy single or double crochet rows. This scarf is just that! It is light and soft and squishy, and it is a fun project that is quick to crochet. The scarf is crocheted lengthwise and the final edge is finished off with cute bouncy crochet dangles.

I used one of my favorite yarns for my new sample (top left), the super soft Illimani Yarn Sabri (437 yards/100 grams, organic cotton/baby alpaca) in the natural color, Ash. Be sure to check out the new Sabri colors at www.illimaniyarn.com.

You’ve Got a Friend crochets up fast, and is a very wearable scarf which makes it perfect for gifting. Make one for yourself and make more to share with your friends and loved ones.

The generous length enables you to wrap and tie it any way you want. The combination of the open stitches and fingering weight yarn produces a very lightweight scarf.
