A super chunky oversize scarf, featuring an intriguing cable pattern on a background of garter stitch, inspired by the roots and branches of the New Forest.

’Ytene’ is an ancient name for The New Forest, a very old area of woodland located in the county of Hampshire, where the beautiful wool used in this design comes from. Emma of The Little Grey Sheep hand dyes the yarn spun from her own flock of sheep, the yarn can be purchased and is shipped internationally through their website http://www.thelittlegreysheep.co.uk/product-subcategory/?...

Materials:

  • 4 x 100g skeins of Hampshire Chunky from The Little Grey Sheep in shade Calshot Spit.
  • 8.00mm needles.
  • Cable needle.
  • Stitch marker.

Dimensions:

  • Length - 210cm/82”
  • Width - 29cm/11.5”

Gauge:

  • 11sts and 14 rows to 10cm/4” in garter st on .00mm needles after blocking.

Yarn substitutions; As an unfitted accessory, there is no specific type of yarn that this pattern requires. As the cable pattern is quite striking it can take some variation in colour and shade without the detail being lost. I highly recommend Hampshire Chunky, the quality and range of colours is excellent.
