Construction notes: Zaha is a colorful Raglan sweater, which is knit seamlessly top down. With a wide collar and generous sleeves, the sweater comes with a comfortable, sporty fit and features a bold striped pattern, including diagonal, lateral and vertical striping. The hem is tied with a drawstring, supporting the easy vibe of the garment. Knitters need to be comfortable doing two-stranded color work as well as steeking.

Inspiration: This pattern is inspired by Zaha Hadid, a visionary architect, known for her ambitious, radical bold line designs. One of her quotes has stayed with me throughout the making of this pattern:
“There are 360 degrees, so why stick to one?”
This sentiment is more than architectural—it’s personal.
As a small knitwear designer, it’s easy to feel like I need to shrink myself to fit a formula. To design what’s expected. To simplify, to smooth out my edges. But again and again, I come back to that inner voice urging me to do what feels true—even if it’s not what’s trending, or what sells fast.
It takes effort to trust my angles. To believe that the lines I follow—even if they’re strange or sharp or quiet—belong in the world. But Zaha’s words remind me that there isn’t just one right path. There are 360 degrees. So why not find my own?The Zaha Sweater was born out of that belief.
Its bold, diagonal stripes slash confidently across a soft, organic shape. The silhouette is relaxed, wearable, and contemporary, while the colorwork lines give it sculptural depth. The drawstring hem adds an unexpected, architectural detail. And the steeking—cutting into the work you’ve carefully built—is both terrifying and transformative.
For me, this sweater is a tribute to women who make space by being exactly who they are.
It’s for anyone carving out their own angle in a world that often favors sameness.
