Suitable for an adventurous beginner, these mitts feature a crochet chain provisional cast on, turned picot hem, cables, slip stitches, and an eyelet edging. Links are provided to explanations of potentially unfamiliar techniques.

While the sample was worked in sportweight yarn, these can be made in fingering weight as well.

Needles and notions:
US Size 1.5 (2.5 mm) needle(s) for preferred method of working small diameters in the round, or size needed to obtain gauge
Circular needle or double pointed needles two sizes smaller than size used to obtain gauge, for eyelet edging.
Crochet hook, approximately the same diameter as the needle size, for provisional cast on.
Scrap yarn for provisional cast on and thumb.
Cable needle (if desired; cable is 1 stitch over 2 stitches)
Three stitch markers, A, B, and C
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
