Zennor
Taking its inspiration from the legendary Mermaid of Zennor, this shawl combines beautiful lace reminiscent of ocean waves with sleek stockinette and a bit of garter stitch for an interesting combination of textures. Worked in lustrous, DK weight cotton yarn, this shawl is a versatile accessory, perfect for any season.
The undulating lace looks more complicated than it really is – it is created with simple yarn overs and basic decreases worked only on the right side, all of which makes this project suitable even for a novice lace knitter.
The shawl is worked in one piece from just a few cast on stitches and increases are worked along one edge shaping it into a modern asymmetric triangle. The lace edge and the stockinette body of the shawl transition seamlessly into the deep lace border along the third edge.
Please note that the Zennor lace is presented in charts as well as in complete row-by-row written directions.
