“Zennor Mermaid”

I wanted to create a shawl that pulls together the Legend of the Zennor Mermaid, colours and sensations of the sea and a memory of special childhood holidays for me.

I have taken, the waves of the sea, the mermaids scales, still waters and the ripples of water and seaweed to be depicted within the stitches that create this shawl.

The yarn has been specially created by Steph from Perran Yarns, also based in Cornwall and uses 5 mini skein colours and just under 2 full skeins all in 4ply/fingering/sock weight yarn.
