I imagined, created and then knitted this blanket in 2016 for my unborn baby and for my goddaughter; in fact, my best friend and I were pregnant at the same time and had our little girls 1 month apart.
The game of twists that zigzag, sometimes to the left, sometimes to the right and avoiding obstacles while maintaining a straight course ahead represents for me the path of life that awaits every newborn.
Sometimes our girls will take the highway, sometimes they will take winding streets, sometimes they will come across obstacles and go around them, they will move forward, frolic, and enjoy the surprises that life offers.
On their life path, they will be able to count on caring and loving people; these bonds of love and friendship are represented by the intertwined twists, like their little fingers crossed with ours.

J’ai imaginé, créé puis tricoté cette couverture en 2016 pour mon bébé à naitre et pour ma filleule ; en effet, ma meilleure amie et moi étions enceintes en même temps et avons eu nos petites filles à 1 mois d’intervalle.
Le jeu de torsades qui zigzaguent, tantôt à gauche, tantôt à droite et évitent des obstacles tout en maintenant le cap droit devant représente pour moi le chemin de vie qui attend tout nouveau-né.
Parfois nos filles emprunteront l’autoroute, parfois des rues plus sinueuses, parfois elles tomberont sur des obstacles et les contourneront, elles avanceront, gambaderont, et profiteront des surprises qu’offre la vie.
Sur leur chemin de vie, elles pourront compter sur des personnes attentionnées et aimantes; ces liens d’amour et d’amitié sont représentées par les torsades entremêlées, comme leurs petits doigts croisés aux nôtres.
