I like simple accessories with a twist. The twist in this cowl looks like a zipper in the front. If you use two colors with a strong contrast, that “zipper” will really pop.

You start off with crocheting the zipper using only 3 simple crochet stitches: chain stitch, single crochet and slip stitch. For the cowl you first pick up stitches along one side of the zipper and knit, then along the other side and knit. The shaping of the cowl is done by decreasing stitches and making horizontal pleats.

Yardage: approx. 330 yards main color, 50 yards contrast color

Finished measurement: Circumference: 23 in (58 cm), Height at front: 17 in (44 cm)
