This pattern is born out of my love for stockings and leaves in knitting. The leaves patterns is the Drooping Elm Leaf pattern from Barbara Walker’s first Treasury of Knitting Patterns and the pattern for the calf is my own.

The name “Zitronenmelisse” is german for the lovely plant Lemon balm. Just like the first time I can wear my stockings and skirt combination Zitronenmelisse reminds me of the first part of spring where the weather is warm but not to warm for wool-stockings.

Zitronenmelisse is perfect for tea and I really like the iced version.
