Zoe Plaited Beanie is a quick & easy knit, great if you are new to cables.

I’ve written two patterns for different size yarn: Bulky & Super Bulky. I like that you can make the same beanie more than once with yarn from your stash.

The Bulky pattern is the forest green beanie pictured, it was less than 1 ball of Bernat Softee Chunky 61grams/61metres, I have also made this using two strands of Bendigo Woollen Mills 12 ply classic yarn 100% wool 96grams/124metres (pitured pale eucalypt colour with white pom pom). Or you can use any yarn that asks for 8mm needles.
You will need 8mm 16” circular needles, 6mm 16” circular needles (for the brim) & a set of 8mm double pointed needles (for decreasing).

The Super Bulky pattern is the melon colour beanie pictured.
For this I used Rowan Big Wool, less than one ball 71grams/57metres, you will need 10mm 16” circular needles, 8mm 16” circular needles (for the brim) & 10mm double pointed needles (for decreasing).

Stitch markers & a cable needle is also required.

The beanie is knit from the bottom up so you can try on towards the end to see how the fit is.
