This pattern was originally introduced (to my knowledge) by Shelly Kang who is The Heathen Housewife.

Because I found different ways to do the pattern to suit myself I figured that others may be interested in seeing my take, hence this addition to Shelly’s original.

The blanket is made up of mitred squares joined as you go, on point rather than in block fashion as many mitred square blankets are done.

I have used a huge variety of sock yarns, both bought and gifted, or left overs from my socks. However you could use any yarn, there is no limitation in what you use as long as your needle size is compatible with your yarn, or to your liking.

There is no ‘required’ size for this blanket, it can be pram size or to fit a king size bed. There is also no ‘required’ number of stitches. My choice was 39, others have used more or less. As long as the stitch count is an odd number. Likewise for the number of squares across or rows - your choice for your desired finished project. My choice was 17 squares across the first row and I am aiming for approx 800 squares to completion.

I would like to thank Shelly for her permission to reproduce her project idea with my pattern style.

I hope you enjoy it.
