Note: You can definitely do this project on straight needles, as long as they are 12” or longer in length. I found circular needles a bit a pain for this project due to the YOs.

Going to add beads instead of making the “nubs” on the edging. I’ve never added beading to my work, but am using Fluffy Knitter Deb’s tutorial. There is also a tutorial on Knitty with two different ways of adding beads to the yarn.

4/7 - Oh my, this yarn (Classic Elite Yarns Silky Alpaca Lace) is just terrible for this project. Very splitty. I’m going to rip this out and start over with a different yarn. I tried to go less expensive, but I think I’m going to have to roll out the big bucks for this project.

4/13 - I ripped my first cast on a re-cast with the Handmaiden Sea Silk yarn. It is much better to work with than with the Classic Elite, so hopefully I can get this project off the ground now.

4/25 - Just BO and I love the way this yarn worked with this pattern. The Stardust color is just beautiful. The clear beads I used don’t show-up as much as I’d like them to, so I am going to try a different color for the same shawls I’m making for my bridesmaids. This one is going to go to my future sister-in-law, who is making the train to my wedding dress. Now I just need to read a bit on blocking; it is my first time doing it! (I’m going to mark this project as done b/c my schedule is making it so I won’t be able to block this for a few weeks and I don’t want people considering making this shawl to think this project takes forever to make. Really quite a quick knit for a shawl!)
