Using DK weight in two colors and a woolen spun (so slightly fluffy) fingering weight in the third. A peacock blue and acidy green deep stash yarns inspired me and I added a warm brown skein to make the third color. I have plenty of yarn and I am hoping that the DK weight and the larger needles will make a HUGE shawl.

As I was knitting the top I decided I wanted to see the brown and blue together, too. So I started striping brown and blue at the end of the top section.

All the knitting is done. Just waiting for ends woven in and a wash and light block. So big I’m not sure how I will wear it, but the yarn is all virtually used up. Only a few yards of each left. Hurray. Mission accomplished. Photos coming soon.

I continued the three stripe section until all stitches were eaten by the short rows--i.e. the short row wasn’t short any more! I still had quite a bit of yarn left over so I am now doing solid bands. I started with a 5 ridge blue band, then an 8 ridge green band (because I wanted to see how the green looked as a solid), then back to the 5 ridges of blue. It will end with a solid band of brown (13 ridges if I go for Fibonacci sizing on the stripes). This thing is going to be HUGE!
