Swatched for a new sweater using the Shibui Pebble yarn in a poppy orange color. The color is called ember, but it reminds me of the WWI poppies.

The swatch is so light. Used size 3 needles based on the ball band of the yarn. 26 stitches in 4 inches. Thinking about the long Whippet pattern. That is a lot of knitting at a very small gauge. Also, the pattern gauge is 24 stitches. So I think I’ll swatch again with size 4 needles.

Changed my mind and decided to make another Boxy after wearing my first one and being reminded of how much I like it. This time there will be no lace stripes. Just miles of pure stockinette in this fantastic orange color.

My gauge led me to make the third or fourth size (38 or 44 bust). At the moment the stitch counts are identical for both sizes. When I get to a point where they are different I’ll do some calculations to decide which will work better for my 26 stitches/4 inches.

Cast on and have joined both back sections and finished the short rows.
