Cast this on as “trip knitting” just prior to the San Luis Obispo trip. Switched between this and the other loop throughout that trip and the camping trip that followed. Made pretty good progress on both.

The yarn was dyed this summer when Marsha (mfuesel) and I were experimenting with dyeing using a box of scavenged weaving yarn. This mohair is very shiny and silky! The purple is almost luminous. It took the dye really well.

Since this is similar to the yarn that the pattern calls for, I am using the size needles called for in the pattern. (In my other one I used a smaller size needle and cast on a few more stitches.) The mohair yarn is quite stiff and perhaps even a little wiry. I think blocking will make a big difference with this. We shall see….
