Notes

Making a braid that will become a dog collar and a couple of key chains for Terri and Mary and their dog, Riley.
I used the stripes/diagonals set-up but just used the one variegated color instead of two colors. I used one card on each side for a teal border. After doing a little with the cards as a single pack, I separated the cards into two packs--one going forward and one going backward. As the twist built up I reversed to release it. The variegation of the yarn did the work.
I looked for plastic buckle clips but the only ones I could find at our local Michaels were too narrow. So I got D rings and will use a double D ring closure on the dog collar. It will be decorative, not for attaching a leash, so this will work fine. I also got the split rings to use for key chains. We see them on Saturday, so I will need to get this braid washed, hemmed up, and attached to the hardware by then.
