Notes

This is going to be my Project of the year 2016. I’m knitting squares for my very first throw, each square in different lace pattern from the historic Estonian lace reference book Pitsilised Koekirjad from the year 1986 edition.
Pattern numbers from the book are shown on photos.

04-04-2016

21 squares are done so far. I have discovered some errors in patterns. Some patterns are not suitable for squares. I write comments in my blog.

Next seven squares done. Colours are off on photos, should be all the same green. But I’m getting better on editing so I should redo all photos or take some new ones.
I am a bit surprised how many errors there is in patterns. Follow the blog for comments.

500 gr of yarn made nearly 25 squares.

I had 20 skeins of Coats Lyric (50 gr = 150 m) but it’s not enough. I was looking for similar yarn and found Drops Safran which is 50 gr = 160 m. Not a big difference in meterage but Safran feels tiny bit thinner and softer than Lyric. I got four different colours of Safran, have to decide which colours match better.
I haven’t knitted squares for awhile, next six done now.

It’s going to be a long project with loads of photos.

Next seven squares added. Wish I had better photos. I could take new photos but editing and adding numbers puts me off a bit.

It’s been awhile since I added some patterns. I have been busy designing sock patterns. Finally got next eight squares done.
