It was an experiment to make a basket from raffia craft ribbon. Turned out it makes a good beach bag but not firm enough for a basket.
Width on widest edge 43 cm (circumference 86 cm.),
hight 25 cm. Used up 3 x 30 m. craft ribbon + 1 x 25 m. (silver) raffia parcel tie (which was a bit narrower than others). To make a beach bag in a good size probably 2-3 more skeins needed.
I will line it and use as a knitting basket.
14/08/14 Finally got it lined. I used neoprene to give some support and lined with cotton.
