This pattern calls for 10 ply wool and I am using a cotton but I figure for a cowl, will it make much difference? I shall give it a go and see how it turns out. Something to knit while I am waiting for my next batch of BWW wool.

Using the 8 ply cotton has given it a tighter weave - I think this looks a bit like the flowers on the wattle tree - a very Australian knit for a ‘Queensland’ yarn.
