I started out on 4 mm as per the pattern, then 3.75, then 3.5 then 3.25 and am now down to 3 mm to try and get the gauge - it is still looking large but I can’t drop another needle size. This yarn is quite hard on the fingers in the worsted weight and small needles and takes ages to knit a few rows. I should have timed it, many hours of work in this project. :-)
Finally finished with only 2”of yarn to spare! I made this a bit longer than what was specified as the person I am making for is 5’9” - I am only 5’4” so this will be a crop top on her. After finally finishing I am not sure I should have stuck to the 3.5 mm and hang the gauge - although I think it would have made a much looser knit. Have been asked to make this for another person but would seriously think about it before tackling it again - not difficult, just hard on the fingers with all the cross over stitches.
