Inspired by Gustav Klimt’s paintings, all autumnal colours and gold spirals. I knitted the blocks individually, then sewed them all together and threw the mat in the washing machine for a good hot wash felting.
Slightly crinkly, as one of the colours felted less than all the others, so I ended up making a narrow chenille border to sew on to help pull it in a little.
Hoping this will stop my children using my best fluffy white towels as a bath mat!
