Notes

My very first Ravelympics, and my very first project using my own handspun!

I figured that the simplicity of the shawl would be perfect for showing off the handspun. It’s also handy because it’s so easily adjusted for yarn quantities in the feather-and-fan section! Most lace patterns are hard to adjust once you get near the edge, and if you run out of yarn, you have to rip back and rethink. With this, I can end the feather-and-fan after however many repeats I like.

I used approximately 45% of my yarn in the garter section, which I knit for 58 instead of the directed 74 rows, and the rest in the feather-and-fan. My yarn ranges between sport and worsted weight, so it’s substantially chunkier than the called-for fingering weight.

I got 11 repeats of the feather-and-fan section done with my remaining yarn.
