This was a collaborative blanket for SweetG, who is leaving Waterloo for a post-doc job in Seattle. She likes purple, and we like her.

Participants in the blanket project include: Heath3r, Mandyzmoon, Yarnpr0n, Johannab, LaTomate74, KimKnitsMitts, AnatomyofaSkirt, WaterlooWools, Corntea, Andie01, McKee309, JKDellow, LittleSplines, HideousAndrea, and in various vicarious ways, Zerocattle (who made an awesome patchwork case for the blanket) and IndigoDragonfly, who gave me a purple mini-skein to use. Also, my husband knitted bits of a square, and contributed some hilarious sleep-talk on the topic. I knit a number of squares, and did the final assembly, border, and blocking.

Yarns used include a whole variety of fingering weights -- such as Koigu, WaterlooWools, IndigoDragonfly, Viola, iPaintuKnit, Malabrigo, Noro, various Knitpicks (including Gloss Fingering in black for the edges and seaming), and yarns that were handspun (Mandy) or handdyed (by Abi, Isaac, and Charlotte).

We made the squares individually, so I could arrange them in a pleasing order after the fact. As before, doing cast-on row and second row in black then switching to colour.
