Notes

I hate knitting garter stitch. I do not even like the look of it. So I made a stockinette version of the pattern. Added a collar and bottom of two colour brioche. Closed w/ 5 little hooks.

Orginial: 18sts 36rs = 1:2 in Garter Stitch.
here: 20sts, 30rs = 2:3 in Stockinette Stitch.

Modifications
purl all WS-rows, k/p every last and first stitch, to have enough sts for picking up (every 2 in 3)
37/36 stripes in black/pink for “scarf” to reach gauge.
German short rows with 2sts between turning sts.

Finished the scarf front part. For the back I will fade colours from white to gray, throwing in some of the rose from the collar. So far without any scheme. Let‘s see.
To fit gauge: CO 62 sts in size S.

Modifications for stockinette pattern here: picked up 60sts from 90rs. This fits well for the stripes. Adding +1 st on each side to create a “picking up” border (=62sts out of 92rs). I picked up the inner half of the outer stitch in stockinette pattern, to get an even rim.

Due to my stockinette pattern the wedges need less rows. Therefor I had to add some rows to my striped scarf for the selvedge of the sides. Sadly I only found that wenn nearly finishing the back patch. So I did some transplantation surgery: cut the stripes and fill in some rows, joining again in kitchener stitch. I added a total of 16 stripes à 4rows - 8 at each side. They will all be joined to the back.

Sewing last side seam before starting collar and bottom. I think I will try brioche around the piece - perhaps in 2-color-stripes at the bottom.

I will put in a zipper instead of button holes.

Finished the first arm: 80grams. I used 3 balls of wool simultaniously. Colour: Caligraphy. I adore this colour. It is so gorgeous!

Pick up 92sts around (that means every 2 of 3), knit 2rs, decrease 4sts => 88sts. Decrease every 6rs till row 80. => 60sts left.

Under arm pattern over 13sts: ktb *p, ktb*. 12rows for the cuff in *p, ktb*. Bind of with sewing needle.

Two Colour Brioche for short-row boarder, every next but one column.
Bottom: Calligraphy and Smokestack - 222sts. Top: Tern and Dirty Panther; needle size 3,75mm.
NB: Leave 20g of Tern for i-cord bind off; needle size 5,5mm. I-cord w/ 2 sts. (=> 3 times the amount of yarn as for last row.)
