I made this magical sweater for my boyfriend Alex. It’s a size medium with few adjustments to the original pattern. The tubular cast on was kind of a pain in the ass but it was totally worth it, the edges turned out wonderfully.

I made the mistake of trying to use a tubular bind off on the collar and it just wasn’t stretchy enough and had to be taken out and redone after blocking. My second mistake was placing the button holes AND the buttons in the center of the collar placket, turns out the collar will roll over in an awkward way if positioned thus. I ended up frogging the collar all the way back to the button holes then redoing the collar, placing both the button holes and the buttons one inch from each edge. I also made the button holes vertical instead of horizontal partly because the instructions were just too complicated also because I feel the vertical holes look more natural and don’t show off the sag from the ribbing.

I’m still unhappy with the collar, due to the horizontal ribbing it will always lay shorter than the front panels of the sweater. I blocked this guy like crazy but it’s always gonna be a little shorter in the front. :/

Otherwise, I love it, the yarn is gorgeous and the tubular cast on makes it look very professional.
